50+ Community Development

50+ dance event

Our 50+ Community Development work supports the 50+ Steering Group with all their events, project support, promotion, fundraising and consultation. The team is based at St Richard's Church and Community Centre but also go out and about in the local community visiting groups, linking with local services and doing outreach.

We have a range of more than 55 free and low-cost in-person and online groups and activities available for people aged 50 and over. Please download the Hangleton and Knoll 50+ leaflet to find out about all current 50+ groups happening in Hangleton and Knoll.

This Active Ageing for Life - Brighton & Hove City Council and The Hangleton & Knoll Project film was made to showcase the successful partnership between the Hangleton & Knoll Project, the Hangleton & Knoll 50+ Steering Group and Active For Life to develop the very successful HK50+ In Shape for Life group.

Our offers include a variety of inclusive groups and activities designed to support and meet the needs of individuals from ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds and communities, including women-only sessions and help with interpreting for anyone whose first language is not English.
